Coordinate driver assignments, route planning, and real-time logistics operations. Serve as the communication hub between drivers, customers, and operations team to ensure seamless freight movement and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Assign drivers to loads based on equipment type, location, and availability
Plan and optimize routes for efficiency and on-time delivery
Monitor driver Hours of Service and ensure DOT compliance
Communicate schedule changes and updates to drivers in real-time
Track shipments and provide status updates to customers
Coordinate with warehouses, terminals, and customers for pickup/delivery appointments
Resolve service issues and make real-time operational decisions
Maintain accurate load documentation and dispatch records
Support drivers with route guidance, weather updates, and problem-solving
Qualifications:
2+ years dispatch or logistics coordination experience
Strong knowledge of DOT Hours of Service regulations
Excellent multitasking and time management skills
Proficiency with TMS (Transportation Management Systems) and ELD platforms
Clear communication skills and professional phone manner
Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions
Problem-solving mindset and customer service orientation
High school diploma required; logistics degree or certification preferred
