Plan and coordinate the transportation of oversized loads, heavy machinery, and construction equipment. Manage all aspects of specialized freight movement including permitting, route planning, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
Design routes for oversized and overweight shipments
Obtain necessary permits from state DOT agencies
Calculate weight distribution and determine equipment requirements
Coordinate pilot car services and escort vehicles
Communicate with customers regarding equipment specifications and site requirements
Arrange specialized trailers and hauling equipment
Ensure compliance with state and federal oversize/overweight regulations
Monitor shipments and provide real-time updates to customers
Maintain relationships with permit agencies and state authorities
Qualifications:
3+ years experience in heavy haul coordination or specialized logistics
Strong knowledge of DOT regulations for oversized/overweight loads
Experience with permit applications and route surveys
Understanding of load securement and weight distribution principles
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Proficiency with mapping software and route planning tools
Strong customer service and communication abilities
